It's like I've been betrayed.

I've found this other different side of you, and it's like seeing the other side of the moon and saying, "Hey, it's dark over here!" because all I'm used to seeing is your light.

But I wonder if you really ever had the light or if it was a just a flickering spark that lasted only only as long as you could stay away from your addictions.

And since I've come back from that camp, all I could think about was shining my light and only my light. The darkness of my previous life was thrown away in exchange for a brighter life that dims as it realizes it's the only one of it's kind around here.

"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!"

And if the old includes my small circle of friends, then so be it. Because I wasn't called into life to be your friend; I was called to share my light with others and your darkness only adds to the clutter that threatens to blow out my candle. So as strongly as this metal is burning into my chest, I'll shrug you off, because doing anything else will only break my heart again.
